Mr. Lockhart specializes in power and analog circuit design for spacecraft avionics.  He has expertise in the design and analysis of attitude determination and control interfaces, power supplies, and actuator/ordinance control electronics.  Mr. Lockhart led the development of a peak power tracker demonstration unit, which formed the basis for a future spacecraft electrical power subsystem design.  He has performed multiple worst-case circuit analyses for spacecraft avionics designs and has a broad experience range with circuit modeling, simulation, and extreme value analysis for high reliability missions.

Mr. Lockhart’s mission background includes Lunar Prospector, Sounder Airship, Genesis, Mars Express, Venus Express, Swift, Glast, Deep Impact, and Pluto New Horizons.  Mr. Lockhart led the design of subsystems ranging from simple instrument front-end electronics to attitude determination and control interfaces for avionics computers.  He served as the task lead for the attitude control interface electronics on the Orbital Express, Kepler, and WISE spacecraft.

Mr. Lockhart is presently supporting the Magnetospheric Multi-Scale (MMS) mission with worst-case circuit analysis of the HPCA low voltage power supplies and stability analysis for the instrument suite power bus.  He is also providing worst-case circuit analysis for the JUNO UVS instrument.
